The Lauritzen Gardens Antique & Gardens Show is entering its
ninth year of bringing renowned experts in antiques, gardening, the various
fields of design and art to Omaha. The show's three days are filled with
educational experiences, great ideas, and of course fabulous and affordable
shopping opportunities. Under the leadership of our honorary chairman Mary
Seina and Cindy Bay the show has grown in stature to become one of the region's
most anticipated events.
•
The show benefits Lauritzen Gardens, Omaha's Botanical
Center. In the past eight years the show has hosted more than 30,000 people and
to date has raised more than three million to benefit the garden and its
educational programs.
• The regional
appeal of this event continues to grow. The show reaches a broad audience
drawing from a six state area including Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, South
Dakota and Colorado.
• The show offers a
one-of-a-kind collector's experience not found elsewhere in the region. At
least 30 exhibitor booths representing both international and domestic dealers,
will feature both beautiful and affordable examples of museum quality antiques
ranging from porcelain, silver, jewelry, oriental rugs, paintings, and finely
crafted furniture.
• The weekend is
packed with a wonderful lineup of events starting on Thursday with an evening
Patron Preview Party, continuing with two lecture and luncheons on both Friday
and Saturday and ending the weekend with Mimosa Sunday.
• On Sunday, guests
bring their heirlooms and antiques to the "What's it Worth?"
Appraisal Clinic for a professional evaluation from one of the nation's premier appraisers of antiques and fine
art.
• Educational
programs have become an integral part of the popular lineup of events. Past
speakers include Susan Jacques, President & CEO of Borsheims Fine Jewelry
& Gifts, Mary Carol Garrity, owner of Nell Hill's in Kansas City and Krissa
Rossbund, Senior Editor of Traditional
Home.
