GENERAL INFORMATION 

  

ˇ         The show will be in the Visitors and Education Center at Lauritzen Gardens, 100 Bancroft Street, Omaha, NE 68108 on November 11-13, 2011 from  

      9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. 

ˇ         There will be a special preview party on Thursday, November 10 from  

6 until 8 p.m. 

ˇ         Quilts must be of a botanical theme which includes florals, landscapes, wildlife in a botanical setting, trees, leaves, plants, etc. If in doubt, please enter your quilt. 

ˇ         Any technique is acceptable, hand or machine quilted, old or new. 

ˇ         All sizes are needed, but may not exceed 96" in width or length.  

ˇ         Quilts displayed at other area quilt shows may be entered.  

ˇ         Quilts must remain on display throughout the duration of the show 

ˇ         A claim check will be issued at the time the quilts are delivered - this claim check will be required to pick up your quilt at the end of the show. 

ˇ         Insurance is the sole responsibility of the entrant. Lauritzen Gardens assumes no liability for the quilts and cannot be held responsible in the unlikely event that the quilt is damaged or lost. Staff and volunteers will be on hand throughout the show. The Lauritzen Gardens Visitor & Education Center is protected by ADT Security System and is locked during the overnight hours. Front gate closes promptly at 5 p.m. 

ˇ         Quilts may be photographed by show attendees. Submission of a quilt to "Quilts in the Garden" show constitutes permission to photograph the quilts. 

ˇ         You are required to work a 3 hour volunteer shift if you have a quilt in the show and live within a 75 mile radius of Omaha. You will receive free admission to the entire garden and the show on the day you volunteer.  

ˇ         Please submit two color photographs, one of the full quilt and one closeup.  Please email photos to fiberartsinbloom@gmail.com along with your completed application no later than October 15, 2011. If you cannot submit by email please mail the application and photo to Lauritzen Gardens Quilts in the Garden, 100 Bancroft Street, Omaha, NE 68108. 

ˇ         Quilt Drop Off: Omaha Quilt Guild Meetings & Cottonwood Quilt Guild Meetings. Quilt drop off will also be available at various quilt shops-more information will be available at a later date. 

ˇ         Quilt Pickup: Sunday, November 13, 2011 from 5:30 pm-6:15 pm at Lauritzen Gardens Visitor and Education Center.
