Saturday, December 15 at 10 a.m.
  
Family Workshop: Gingerbread Houses
Spend time as a family at Lauritzen Gardens. Each month families will complete a craft project together and explore a related garden with a guide. One gingerbread kit will be provided per family (any combination of adults and children, as long as one adult is participating). Includes garden admission. This month, tour the Marjorie K. Daugherty Conservatory and the visitor and education center to get in the holiday spirit. Families will then build and decorate their own gingerbread house to take home! Workshop is $40, $30 for garden members. Pre-registration is required by December 8.

Read and Grow at the Garden: Hibernation Celebration
In order for curious minds to bloom, it is essential to plant a love of reading at a young age. Join the Omaha Public Library in the garden each month for stories that celebrate gardens, plants, insects and more, and discover the joys of nature, movement, music, and literature. Programs are geared for preschool aged children, but all ages are welcome. This is a free program.

In Lil' Sprouts, adults and children work together while learning about nature, shapes, colors, ABC's and 123's. Enjoy story time, hands-on activities, crafts, garden exploration and creative play as you discover the wonders of nature with your child or grandchild. This month's class focuses on the tropical side of the conservatory, where we'll search for palm trees that call our conservatory home and figure out what makes them different than our native tree species. Program is $14, $8 for garden members. Pre-registration is required by January 2.

Programs are geared for preschool aged children, but all ages are welcome. This is a free program.

Family Workshop: Outdoor Ornaments for Birds and Other Wildlife
Spend time as a family at Lauritzen Gardens. Each month families will complete a craft project together and explore a related garden with a guide. One craft will be provided per family (any combination of adults and children, as long as one adult is participating). Includes garden admission. This month families will learn about the birds of Nebraska and birds we have identified at Lauritzen Gardens. Bring your binoculars to look for birds in the garden. Families will make a pinecone bird feeder and a popcorn strand feeder to take home to feed wildlife. Workshop is $25, $15 for garden members. Pre-registration is required by January 12.

Dinosaur Yoga for Families
Yoga poses are going prehistoric in this dinosaur-themed yoga sequence designed for the whole family! Bring your mat and stand like a stegosaurus, dip down like a diplodocus, and breathe like a brachiosaurus among incredible dinosaur sculptures in this indoor class with Megan Roth. Classes are designed to encourage playful, mindful movement for all ages and abilities. Pre-registration is required by January 24. One registration is good for the whole family (can be any combination of four people, with at least one adult participating). Please bring a mat or a towel.

Garden Yoga for Families
Experience nature from a new angle in this garden-themed yoga sequence designed for the whole family! Bring your mat and stand tall like a tree, bend your legs like a butterfly, fold like a flower, and fly like a bird in this class with Megan Roth, designed to encourage playful, mindful movement for all ages and abilities. Class will be outdoors, but will be moved indoors if necessary. Pre-registration is required by January 31. One registration is good for the whole family (can be any combination of four people, with at least one adult participating). Please bring a mat or towel.

This month families will take a guided walk through our dinosaur exhibit and make a salt dough fossil creation. Workshop is $25, $15 for garden members. Pre-registration is required by February 2.

Painting with Pinot's Palette: Two Mini Canvas Cute-a-saurus
Simple color mixes and recognizable shapes make these two mini cute-a-saurus paintings perfect for little ones and their parent/guardian to complete together. Enjoy customizing your own prehistoric masterpieces on mini canvases! Guests enjoy a no-experience-required art class—all supplies included—directed by trained, local artists, who guide guests step-by-step through the featured paintings. Admission to the garden is included and participants may explore the larger than life exhibit Dinosaur UpROAR while their paint dries. Each registration is good for one child and one adult. Pre-registration is required by March 9.

Monty is a triceratops. His favorite things include playing with his friends and eating plants.
