Summer Camps

Up-close encounters with nature, tram rides, fun in the model railroad garden, and other guided garden exploration- the best place for summer fun and discovery is at a Lauritzen Gardens Summer Adventure Camp! 

  

Summer Adventure Camps provide a unique learning experience for children 4-12 years of age in week-long, half-day (9 a.m. to noon or 1 to 4 p.m.) or full-day (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) options. Kids will learn science and nature through hands-on activities, arts and crafts and more in indoor and outdoor settings. 

  

All Included! 

With early check-in (8 a.m.), extended checkout (5 p.m.) and nutritious lunches included in many camp options, Summer Adventure Camps are the best value in the Omaha metro area. Plus, all campers that register by May 15 will receive a sport-pack to carry their belongings*. (Camp days held at partnering organizations may not have the same options available)

        Most Flexibility - The Super Pass lets you choose when you use each day of camp.  

  

*To receive a multiple camp discount, two or more weeks of camp must be purchased within a single transaction. The discounted week of camp must be of equal or lesser value to the week(s) of camp purchased at regular price.  


Fun Camp Themes 

  

         Nature's Super Heroes 

o        JUNE 2-6 or 16-20 JULY 14-18; AUGUST 4-8 

o        Nature is filled with incredible plants and animals that have their very own super powers. From the powers of spider webs to the speed of flight and the super strength of plant defenses, this camp is sure to amaze! Campers will also learn how they can be super heroes for nature at home by conserving and recycling. On the final day, campers are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite super hero or in their favorite family-friendly costume. 

  

         A Brush with Nature 

o        JUNE 9-13 for ages 5-8 years or JUNE 23-27 for ages 9-12 years 

o        This wonderful camp will explore artists' love of nature at Lauritzen Gardens and the Joslyn Art Museum. Campers will trek through the acres of nature available at Lauritzen Gardens as they learn about plants, animals and insects, then sketch and paint the flora and fauna they discover. When at the Joslyn Art Museum, campers will be introduced to artists like Thomas Moran and Claude Monet who loved to risk bug bites and weather to paint the perfect sunset or blossoming flower.  

          Some camp days will require drop-off at the Joslyn Art Museum. Others will require drop-off at Lauritzen Gardens.   

  

  

         WILD Wilderness Adventure 

o        JUNE 9-13 or 23-27; JULY 21-25 

o        Where the city meets the wilderness, this adventure will lead campers on an experience that is sure to engage their imagination and wonder. Through crafts and other fun activities, campers are sure to develop an appreciation for all things wild. Don't miss this week-long exploration of the incredible ways that plants and animals survive and thrive at the garden. 

  

         Dirty Jobs 

o        JULY 7-11 or JULY 28 to August 1 

o        Lauritzen Gardens has partnered with the Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium to offer a camp unlike any other. Have you ever wondered how dirty, grimy, and grubby you can get working in the garden or at the zoo?  From worms to wild dive into the amazing world of working with nature and discover what it takes to keep both of these organizations running! 

          Some camp days will require drop-off at the Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium. Others will require drop-off at Lauritzen Gardens.   

  

Members 

        Per week of camp  

o       Half-day $99 

o       Full day $185 

Non-Members 

        Per week of camp 

o       Half-day $109 

o       Full day $199
