Pricing and Tour Information

Themed summer field trips are recommended for participants going into Pre-K through 5th grade, and garden guided tours are available for participants going into middle or high school. Each theme for groups going into Pre-K through 5th grade will also include guided time in Sofia's Play Garden. Groups must have at least 10 student participants and a maximum of 50. Please reach out to us for groups larger than 50.

The cost to attend is $6 per student, with one staff member/chaperone admitted at no cost for every 10 students. Additional parent chaperones may attend by paying regular admission or using their garden membership.

Admission sponsorship and transportation may be available for select "summer school" academic programs through public and private school districts, as well as homeschool groups. Please note that this does not apply to summer out-of-school programs affiliated with local school districts. Please reach out to Erin Heckeroth-Brown at e.heckeroth-brown@omahabotanicalgardens.org to see if your program may qualify.

Please plan to book your field trip at least two weeks in advance. Themes and tour options are listed below and typically last 90 minutes, unless otherwise noted. We are unable to accommodate on-site lunches for summer field trip groups.

Themes and Tour Options

Dinosaurs Around the World (Pre-K-5th Grade)

Summer 2026's special exhibition, Dinosaurs Around the World, features 15 animatronic dinosaurs, in settings showcasing the original continent configuration of Pangea. In addition to these unique dinosaurs, we will explore the tectonic plates and geological formations that impacted how the dinosaurs lived!

Prehistoric Plants (Pre-K-5th Grade)

Explore the newly renovated Marjorie K. Daugherty Conservatory, with a special look at plants with prehistoric origins! This tour will also feature a few of the dinosaurs featured in our summer display, Dinosaurs Around the World!

Playful Pollinators (Pre-K-5th Grade)

The beauty found at Lauritzen Gardens wouldn't be the same without the help of our incredible pollinators! This tour will explore a variety of garden spaces that thrive thanks to the bees, moths, beetles, butterflies, birds, and more that also call the garden home.

Garden Guided Tour (Middle & High School)

With over 20 gardens and 100 acres to explore, your summer guided tour will highlight the best spots to enjoy the gardens in the peak of summer. Each tour will feature multiple spaces based on what's in bloom and leave your students feeling inspired.

Discovery Tour (All Ages)

This self-guided experience allows groups to explore the outdoor garden spaces at their own pace! Please note that groups must adhere to the 1:10 adult to student ratio at all times. Sofia's Play Garden is not included in Discovery Tours unless specific arrangements have been made based on schedules and staffing.
