Themes and Tour Options
Dinosaurs Around the
World (Pre-K-5th Grade)
Summer 2026's special
exhibition, Dinosaurs Around the World, features 15 animatronic dinosaurs,
in settings showcasing the original continent configuration of Pangea. In
addition to these unique dinosaurs, we will explore the tectonic plates and
geological formations that impacted how the dinosaurs lived!
Prehistoric Plants
(Pre-K-5th Grade)
Explore the newly
renovated Marjorie K. Daugherty Conservatory, with a special look at plants
with prehistoric origins! This tour will also feature a few of the dinosaurs
featured in our summer display, Dinosaurs Around the World!
Playful Pollinators (Pre-K-5th
Grade)
The beauty found at
Lauritzen Gardens wouldn't be the same without the help of our incredible
pollinators! This tour will explore a variety of garden spaces that thrive
thanks to the bees, moths, beetles, butterflies, birds, and more that also call
the garden home.
Garden Guided Tour
(Middle & High School)
With over 20 gardens and
100 acres to explore, your summer guided tour will highlight the best spots to
enjoy the gardens in the peak of summer. Each tour will feature multiple spaces
based on what's in bloom and leave your students feeling inspired.
Discovery Tour (All
Ages)
This self-guided
experience allows groups to explore the outdoor garden spaces at their own
pace! Please note that groups must adhere to the 1:10 adult to student ratio at
all times. Sofia's Play Garden is not included in Discovery Tours unless
specific arrangements have been made based on schedules and staffing.
