Summer Camps

Summer Adventure Day Camps provide a unique learning experience for children   

5-12 years of age where they will learn science concepts and interact with nature through hands-on activities, arts and crafts and more in indoor and outdoor settings. Camps will be held onsite at Lauritzen Gardens this summer.

ALL CAMPS ARE FULL-DAY, FULL-WEEK.   

  

Extended check-in and checkout packages are available.   

         Early drop-off is available from 8 to 9 a.m. and late pick up from 4 to 5 p.m.   

         Please note, these options are not available for camps held in conjunction with Fontenelle Forest or Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium.  

  

New registration system   

         Members must be logged into the system in order to receive their discounts. If this is the first time that you have used the system since December 2020, please click register in the upper right-hand corner and register your account using the email that you have on file with the garden. After completing that process, click sign-in (or verify that your email appears in the upper right) and then complete your camp transaction. Member discounts will be automatically applied in the cart.

FUN CAMP THEMES THAT CONNECT CHILDREN TO NATURE  

BUTTERFLIES, BIRDS, AND BOOKWORMS  

AUGUST 7-11  

Send your bookworm to the garden for a week of camp in the perfect setting, Lauritzen Gardens! Campers will receive an assortment of books relating to the natural world, will complete activities connected to the stories, and will have opportunities to read, discuss, and interact with their peers. It's a week where the literary world and the natural world combine for learning and fun!

ECOSYSTEM EXPLORATIONS  

JUNE 12-16 - SOLD OUT! OR JUNE 26-30 - SOLD OUT!  

Get ready to discover a variety of North American biomes! This week's hands-on activities and onsite exploration at Lauritzen Gardens and Fontenelle Forest will give campers a better understanding of nature and their place in it. Children will walk away with new knowledge about supporting a healthy balance among living and non-living things, and an inspired sense of protecting our planet!

NATURE'S AMAZING LIFE CYCLES  

JULY 3-7 OR JULY 17-21 - SOLD OUT!  

This fun summer camp takes a deep dive into the lives of plants and animals at Lauritzen Gardens and Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium. Nature's life cycles will come alive for campers through exhibit exploration, crafts, games, nature walks, and animal investigations as they learn how living things grow and change over time.

PLANTS AND PATTERNS   

JUNE 5-9 OR JULY 24-28   

Plants and Patterns is a bright week of fun and adventure that mixes the great outdoors with artistic expression. Campers will discover geometry in nature, learn about the colors, shapes, textures, and patterns found in the garden, and put their own imaginative spin on a variety of multi-media art projects. Throughout the week budding artists will transform into pattern private eyes and design detectives!

POLLINATION INVESTIGATION  

MAY 29-JUNE 2 - SOLD OUT! OR JULY 10-14  

From lumbering beetles to majestic moths and busy bees to beautiful butterflies, campers will spend this week getting up close and personal with the amazing native pollinators that make our gardens possible. Through games, activities, observations, and nature walks, campers will discover the who, what, when, where, why and how of pollination and how they can help protect pollinator populations!

WONDERCAMP: A SENSORY ADVENTURE  

JUNE 19-23 OR JULY 31-AUGUST 4  

Designed to engage the senses and develop an awareness of how important sight, hearing, taste, touch, and sound are, this camp is a celebration of how we can fully explore, enjoy, and play in nature. Campers will have opportunities to discover the WONDERS of the garden as they practice using their senses and participate in exciting activities and projects.

REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS  

  

A refund equal to 50% of the purchase price may be given when the refund is requested a minimum of four weeks before the start of the camp, this includes any goods or services purchased in conjunction with the camp. If a refund is requested within four weeks of camp, no refund will be given. The refund of one or more camps may affect the sale prices charged in the previous transaction, and therefore may affect the refund. In the event that multiple camps have been purchased, and a refund is requested, amounts refunded will begin with the least expensive camp and progress higher in purchase price as needed according to purchases within the same transaction. When possible, Lauritzen Gardens can transfer a camp registration to another session. However, transfer requests are based on availability.
