Lil Sprouts: Spiders and Other Bugs that Spin Webs
In Lil' Sprouts, adults and children (pre-K, ages 3-5) work together while learning about nature, shapes, colors, ABC's and 123's. Enjoy story time, hands-on activities, crafts, garden exploration and creative play as you discover the wonders of nature with your child or grandchild. This month's class focuses on spiders and other bugs that spin webs. We will head into the garden to locate and draw webs. Each registration is good for one child and one adult. Pre-registration is required by September 30. $18, $8 for garden members.

Read and Grow at the Garden: In My Pond
In order for curious minds to bloom, it is essential to plant a love of reading at a young age. Join the Omaha Public Library in the garden each month for stories that celebrate gardens, plants, insects and more, and discover the joys of nature, movement, music, and literature. Programs are geared for preschool aged children, but all ages are welcome. This is a free program.

Family Workshop: Pumpkin Decorating
Spend time as a family at Lauritzen Gardens. Each month families will complete a craft project together and explore a related garden with a guide. One craft will be provided per family (any combination of adults and children, as long as one adult is participating). Includes garden admission. This month, as the leaves begin to change and the air feels crisp, join us for gourd-eous time decorating pumpkins and touring the colorful fall garden. Family Workshop: Turkeys
Gobble, gobble! This month, learn about turkeys (did you know that they were once considered for our national bird?), make a colorful, edible turkey, and tour the Arboretum and Oberman Bird Sanctuary to look for live turkeys! Picture is representative, but not identical to the month's craft.

This month, learn about the birds of Nebraska, and birds we have identified at Lauritzen Gardens. Bring your binoculars to look for birds in the garden.
