The Great Gnome Escape
Explore the trails of the arboretum and help the department of gnomeland security locate the rogue band of roaming gnomes.
WHAT'S IN BLOOM?
Spiderwort, penstemon, and Japanese tree lilacs are at their peak and purple poppy mallow, shrub roses, hardy geranium, astilbe, red valerian, and more are also adding color and interest to the landscape. Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Open until 8 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday evenings.

Art Exhibit: Nature's Colorful Threads by the Omaha Weavers and Spinners Guild
Members of the Omaha Weavers and Spinners Guild have created pieces, individually or collaboratively, that showcase the various ways that fibers and dyes found in nature can become works of art.

Garden Twilight
Visit the garden during the twilight hours for a relaxing way to end the summer days. Monday and Tuesday evenings from May 13 through September 10, 2019.

Summer Solstice Lecture featuring Alan Branhagen
Join Alan Branhagen, director of operations at Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, and author of Native Plants of the Midwest, for a review of native plants for every niche of the garden. Learn which natives to grow to best suit your conditions, and get ideas on how to use natives to create a functional and beautiful landscape. $15, $10 members. Pre-registration is required.

A collection of 51 handcrafted birdhouses that combines art, geography, horticulture and birding to educate visitors about state birds and flowers and how to attract wildlife to their garden space.

Hanging with our Gnomies
It's a happy hour exclusively for our gnomeboys and gnomegirls that are over 21! Explore the colorful summer garden without children, participate in our summer-long gnome scavenger hunt, and listen to live music by Jon Bleicher. Perfect for a date night or an evening with friends. Admission ($20+tax, $10+tax for members) includes one drink ticket and cash-only bars will be set with a selection of beer, cider, and wine, as well as non-alcoholic beverage options. The cafe will be open for dinner service and Hello Sugar and Paletas La Polar will be onsite with fantastic dessert options. MUST BE 21 TO ATTEND. Pre-register to expedite your check-in time!

Glee Handbell Choir of Japan
Back by popular demand, the Glee Handbell Choir from Meiji Gakuin Higashimurayama High School in Tokyo, Japan will present two concerts at Lauritzen Gardens on Thursday, July 25. Concerts will be held indoors from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. and 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. and will include selections by Glenn Miller and Edward Elgar as well as other classical and modern pieces. The 13 member choir is recognized as a leading handbell choir in Japan and is led by directors Mr. Kazuyoshi Inagaki and Mr. Takanobu Onoda. Performances are included with paid garden admission or membership.
