Art Exhibit: Taking Root by Kristine Allphin
When Kristine Allphin began to play with batik on paper and discovered her passion for prairie grass, everything fell into place. This exhibit, full of color and texture, celebrates Batik (an ancient decorative art used to embellish textiles) and the many forms of beauty found in nature.

Featured Work of Art: An Interpretation Frida Kahlo by Carla Real, Melanie Mitera, and Beadle Middle School Students
This work has been on display at numerous locations in our community and is now making its way to Lauritzen Gardens. Echoing the messages displayed during the garden's spring exhibit "Metamorphosis: From Reclaimed Plastics to Works of Art," this work of art draws awareness to the importance of environmental stewardship and plastic pollution, but also showcases how beautiful reclaimed materials can be.

Art Exhibit: Nebraska Nostalgia by Senior Watercolorists from MCC
This group of senior artists from Metro Community College's 50+ classes come from all walks of life and have a vast array of life experiences, but they all share a love of art and a need to express their talent. Botanical themes are often incorporated into their work, and this exhibit is described as "Nostalgic ideas with botanical themes."

Once again, Lauritzen Gardens is making the holiday season merry and BRIGHT! The holiday poinsettia show and the Marjorie K. Daugherty Conservatory will be adorned and enhanced with light as the garden extends its hours on select evenings to celebrate the beauty of the season.
